Crisis Core Perfect Guide - Part 12
Final Chapter

Zack arrives at Banola Village once again. Lazard swoops down to meet Zack, still holding his wound from fighting off the Genesis Clones. The fools apples that Genesis always carries around only grow in Banola, so now the party has only got to wait for Genesis to make his appearance. Zack leaves Lazard and Cloud to rest, while he checks out the surroundings. As Zack is looking around the lifesteam erupts from the ground nearby. He jumps down a ledge to get a better look, there is a large hole in the cliff face. Upon entering the crevice he spots desk with various objects on it. As he walks a little closer to the desk one of the books catches his eye, so he picks it up and has a read.

The book reads “White Banola Juice. National Agricultural Contest – Manufacturing Department – Most Valuable Contestant. This juice is simply amazing! Genesis; the young man who created this juice resides in the small village of Banola. Amazing simply Amazing!
Genesis said upon winning Most Valuable Contestant “I’m really happy with the juice, the fruit by itself is very delicious to eat. I would like to show the fruits of my success to Sephiroth who is the same age as me. It’s my dream one day to eat Banola Apples with my parents and my hero Sephiroth.””

A loud roar echoes down the tunnel, Zack make haste down the tunnel and finds himself in a different section of the cave. To continue further into the cave Zack needs to find the 7 Gifts of the Goddess.

The seven pieces of the Goddess Material you require are distributed in the Adjudgement Abyss and Lethe Lake. Some of the more difficult pieces to find are in the positions below.

In Adjudement Abyss there is a Labyrinth called Anathema Prison, you don’t have to go into the prison, but it yields some treasure boxes and see the monster locked behind the Iron Gate. There isn’t much else you can do in there.
To continue you must read the four Loveless steles, then you have to find several light Cumulations of Life Spring at Lethe Lake. After you have found all of the Life Spring a number of monsters will appear, killing them will reveal an entrance to the next area. The monsters in here drop all sorts of Goddess Keys, you will have to forage deep in the cave to find the key to the big iron gate with the monster behind it. Once you have it open the Iron gate and fight the monster inside to get access to the bid farewell gate behind it by the lift.

A large doorway opens and Zack finds Genesis slowly deteriorating; his hair faded grey and a pale face. Genesis begins to gather energy from the lifestream as Zack approaches, Genesis is swept into a transformation, in the meantime Zack is trying to stop him. Zack takes a step back away from the monstrous form Genesis has become. Zack prepares himself for a tough battle. Genesis throws various spells and clones at you, but you should be able to beat him dodging his various attacks. After a vigorous fight Genesis monster form is defeated, and a reborn Genesis now stands before Zack.
reborn Genesis now stands before Zack.

Genesis says “Revenge is scared into my soul. Agonising over its arrival our wishes become out relief --- sleep when you are equable.”

Zack can’t believe it. “Don’t tell me that from the very beginning you were!?”

Genesis charges at Zack with the little energy he has left, Zack furious with his actions accepts his challenge deals with the remains of Genesis swiftly. Genesis goes flying loosing grip of his sword mid air. As Genesis is falling to the ground he has a vision, standing the misty Lifestream he sees the Goddess of the planet. He holds out his hand as if waiting to be accepted into her arms. She draws her eyes away from him and refuses his request. He hits the ground hard, lying defeated. Zack walks over to his corpse, slings him over his shoulder and heads back to Lazard and Cloud.

Zack finds Lazard sitting under a White Banola tree with Cloud and an Angeal clone. They had fended themselves from ShiRa attacks while Zack was away. Realising that the clone that had helped here was the same clone that had protected Aerith from the ShinRa robots Zack breaks into tears. He looks up to see Lazard breathing his the last of his breath, Zack punches the ground in frustration of not being able to save him.

“Thank you” Zack says under his breath.

Zack decides to do something memorable for Genesis and passes a number of Fools Apples to his comrades; Lazard, Cloud and Genesis.

“Alright! Lets eat together! I’m sorry it isn’t the real thing.” Zack says revelling in the moment.

“Does it taste good?” Genesis asks

“Yeah” Zack replies with a smile

“The ?Gift of the Goddess??”

“Is this Apple?” Zack questions

Genesis shakes his head

“Huh?” Zack says in confusion

“Angeal --- The dream has been fulfilled” Genesis says as he drifts into a deep slumber

Lazards’ body and the Angeal copy both return to the Lifestream. Zack notices a letter left behind by the Angeal Clone.

Zack inspects the letter; “Are you doing well? Where are you? This will be the 89th letter I’ve written to you, and it will be my last. Zack! The flowers are selling very well, it makes everyone smile, its all thanks to you. Aerith.”

“Four years? What do you mean last?” Zack says in confusion, not knowing where the other 88 letters are.

“Aerith! Wait for me!” Zack screams his lungs out hoping Aerith would hear him

Zack grabs Cloud and continuing his Journey to Midgar. Just before leaving he turns to Genesis.

“You wait for me as well, make sure you continue living”

Soon after Zack leaves Banola a ShinRa helicopter lands and two soldiers take Genesis and fly off. A piece of paper falls from the sky. “Even if there is no promise for tomorrow, I swear I will return to the place where you stand. A drop of the planet’s hope from ending land, the far side of the sky and the distant water surface becomes a secret offering. Loveless.”

Loveless

Back at Midgar Cissinei prepares a helicopter to assist the other Turks in capturing Zack and Cloud.

“Cissinei! The army is on the move. Move swiftly and secure them before they do.” Tseng says

“I know, the army is clueless of the conditions of their situation.” Cissenei replies

“He’ll be alive, I’m sure of it, he doesn’t give up that easily. You need to save Zacks life.”

“Of course sir. I still haven’t told you my real name.”

“I’m counting on you for their sake. There are letters I wish to give him; 88 to be exact.”

Zack and Cloud manage to hitchhike on the back of a truck back to Midgar. Zack looks up to the big blue sky and joshes around with Cloud, who is still a bit out of it.

“Don’t joke around with me, I’d never abandon you. We’re friends right?” Zack says playfully

Somewhere above in the musty desert skies of the outskirts of Midgar are Reno and Rude trying to find Zack and Cloud under Cissinei’s orders.

Zack notices that the ShiRa army is tailing them and pulls Cloud off the truck and hides him behind a large rock so he doesn’t get hurt. Zack runs off to meet the soldiers as Cloud tries to reach out to Zack and tell him to stop but no words come out. Zack marches out in front of the soldiers with a smile on his face.

“Honestly. Freedom sure is expensive.” Zack says as he draws the Buster Sword readying himself for battle.

“Never lose sight of your dreams. Also, no matter the situation never let go of your pride as a soldier! Welcome!” Zack knowing he can’t fight after taking a number of hits, continues to hold his own as he clings to the memories of his friends and loved ones.

Zack takes a knocking blow and is shot point blank, the ShinRa army start heading back to Midgar knowing they have accomplished their goal. They leave Zack on the brink of death as it begins to rain. Aerith feels as if something terrible has happened while she is in the Slum Church.

Aeirth

Cloud crawls to Zacks wounded body with the little strength he has.

“Zack” Cloud says looking at what is left of his comrade

“On my behalf” Zack utters

“Your behalf?”

“That’s right. You will”

“You will?”

“Continue living. You are proof that I existed. I leave you my friend with my pride and dreams. I give it all to you.” Zack manages to get out

“I am proof you existed” Cloud says confidently as he clutches the Buster Sword that Zack is handing him.

Cloud looks into Zacks faded eyes, realising the price Zack has paid to save him.

Zack lies resting on the edge of a cliff that rises over Midgar. The rainy sky clears and the sun shines down on him.

“Hold onto your dreams! If you want to become a hero you have to hold onto your dreams” Zack says to Cloud

“Thank you. I won’t forget. Goodnight. Zack.”

Cloud tightly grips the Buster Sword and continues the journey to Midgar as Zacks body begins its new journey to return to the planet.

“That girl said that she was scared of the natural sky, but of course it must feel great right? Those wings of yours, lend them to me as well. What’s this? It feels great. When you meet Aerith I’m depending on you to look after her. Hey I’ve become a hero right?”
Zack says as the final screen of the game comes up.
