| | Zack and Cloud are taken away by Hojo as experiment samples. The two of them are put inside regeneration tubes. While in his tube Zack has a dream about Angeal. “Those wings of yours, please lend them to me please.” Zack cries out. A researcher rushes into the lab after hearing glass smash. Zacks regeneration tube glass has cracked and he has smashed himself free. Zack moves quickly and knocks out the researcher. You go over to a control panel and press a couple of buttons to release Cloud. As he is pressing buttons trying to get the tube open he finds a report on the desk. It says that the experiment had been defeated. Zacks immune system was strong enough able to resist the effects of the Jenova Cells that Hojo had pumped into him, but Cloud on the other hand, his immune system didn’t react fast enough to put up a decent fight against the intruder. The report said that Cloud now suffers from Mako poisoning and there is little hope that he will recover from it. Zack opens the tube and looks at Cloud, his eyes are empty, Zack tries to snap him out of his daze, but is unsuccessful, It is almost like Cloud has had his Soul ripped from him. Zack takes Cloud with him and tries to escape Nibelheim Mansion, when you reach the front door a number of ShinRa soldiers spot the two of you. Fighting the Soldiers leaves Zack quite exhausted after everything he has been through. Zack decides the front door isn’t the way to go and takes cloud up the main steps and into one of the side rooms. Along the way Zack is talking to Cloud, who is still in his vegetative state. Zack puts Cloud down onto one of the beds, and steps back, wondering why Cloud hasn’t snapped out of it yet, surely by now he should be fine. Zack runs back down to the lab with the regenerative tubes and grabs the Mansion Master Key from the Scientist he knocked out earlier. He then runs back up to Cloud and inspects the wardrobe. In the wardrobe Zack finds a Soldier Uniform, he pulls it out and suits Suites cloud up ready for action. Reaching into his pocket for something, Zack pulls out a small piece of paper. Zack reads the note out loud, “ There are 23 little luxuries, but you probably wont remember them. There is only one thing I want most -” Zack pauses for a moment, and looks up out the dust covered window with a smile, “to spend more time with you.” Remembering his promise to Aerith, he realises that he has one last mission. Supporting Cloud, you are on your way again. There are a lot of ShinRa scouting robots hanging around Nibelheim, you have two choices upon how you want to deal with these robots. You can shoot the robots to drive them away with the Sniper Rifle you found on the ground, or beat down the robots like you have been doing since the start of the game. If you choose to fight the robots for each robot you kill you receive a point, the points are used to upgrade the Sniper Rifle. So go and smash some robots and upgrade your rifle a little before chasing the rest away with your upgraded weapon. Zack spots the trail out of town, but it is crawling with those ShinRa scouts. So before he engages the robots he leans Cloud down somewhere safe. Using his sniper rifle Zack deals with the robots along the trail. He jumps down off the ridge and checks to make sure the path is safe to bring Cloud through. When he gets to a bend in the path, Zack looks at the moon and the light up ocean. Zack has been followed since he was in town, looking over the ocean Zack braces himself as the person emerges from the shadows. Its Cissnei, she asks Zack what had happened to him, but its hard for Zack to answer and looks at the ground breaking eye contact instead. Zack believes she will attack him, but she is confused and doesn’t know what has been happening. Cissnei doesn’t know quite what to do at a time like this, and throws her Shuriken at Zack quite loosely; she doesn’t quite know what she is doing in this distraught state. Zack easily draws his blade and deflects the half heartedly thrown Shuriken. She looks back at him and tries to approach him, but he walks away. Cissnei is left distraught looking across the ocean, thinking of what she has done. Zack runs back to Cloud to check on him in his comatose state. Surely enough Cloud hasn’t moved an inch, just staring vaguely into the distance. Zack picks Cloud up and continues explaining what has been happening. Cissnei catches up to the two of them, speeding up to them on the latest of ShinRa motor bikes. She pulls up in front of them, blocking their path with her Shiny new bike. Zack turns to her and holds his sword at her, it seems she understands what has happened to the pair of them. Cissnei pulls her phone out of her pocket and starts to call someone, while she is dialling Zack starts to freak out, and rests Cloud on the ground. She raises her hand to him, telling him everything is ok, and not to worry. She tells Tseng that Zack has left, She closes her phone and steps off the bike. Cissnei hands Zack the keys to brand new beast and walks back towards Nibelheim. Zack places Cloud in the passenger seat and takes seat on the motorbike with a determined smile. Zack takes off at full pelt to Midgar, burning the bike down the road into the distance. On the way back to Midgar Zack spots a Genesis Clone on the side of the road. He attempts to engage the clone in fight but is hit from behind by the original Genesis. The clones hold him, Genesis tells one of the clones to eats some of Zacks hair to stop its degradation. Genesis and the other clone fly away. The clone left behind is in pain after eating Zacks hair and transforms into a horrible beast. Zack braces himself for the fight. After easily wiping the floor with the clone beast, Zack heads back to his bike to continue his journey to Midgar. Zack finds himself driving through a desert, to his utmost surprise he finds himself in a familiar place, His hometown Gongaga. Zack heads into the city and parks his bike next to a broken Mako reactor and heads further into town. Still undecided wether to visit his parents, Cissnei comes along to help him make that decision. She tells him that his parents are well, and Angeal is likely in Gongaga as well. How the two of them looks as if they could be in love. Zack knows that Cissnei was raised by ShinRa, and Cissnei wasn’t her real name. She turns around and heads back towards the Turks. Far in the distance Zack sees something really white and shiny in the distance. Its Angeal!? Angeal flies up into the mountain top. Zack chases after him, and heads to the top of the mountain. When Zack reaches the top he calls out to Angeal, but all he finds are Genesis clones! The clones attack and you have to defend yourself.
After beating the two clones, more appear. Fortunately before they attack someone calls them off. Holland: That persons’ cells will be most helpful to us! You used to be a SOLDIER. The cell structures have already started deteriorating. Zack: Holland?! You used it didn’t you? Holland: Yes, Genesis was trying to kill me. If I wanted to continue living I had no toher choice. Zack: But you are deteriorating… Holland: That is correct, but I don’t regret anything. Genesis appears from behind Dr. Holland, holding a White Banola apple. He tells Zack that their target is Cloud!
Zack: So you have been following Holland since Junon? Why would you do that? Lazard: I thought I would need Hollands help for my revenge. Zack: You sure know how to pick your allies don’t you… Lazard: I never would have thought that one of Angeals cells would turn me into an Angeal clone… Zack: Be joyful, you’re a decent of Project G Lazard: Its quite a Mysterious feeling… Zack: Hm? Lazard: After having my life taken control of by Angeals cells, I completely forgot about my revenge, but in exchange – I want to help you – I want to save Genesis – now that I think about it, it’s a stronger feeling than that. I… I want to save the world. Zack: Its not mysterious at all, hehe, because that is exactly how Angeal felt. Lazard: Haha Genesis seems to be after something called the ?Gift of the Goddess? although I don’t know what it is. No matter what ever it is, we will find out. Zack: I really don’t get anything he ever says… What should we do? Lazard: Angeal will guide us perhaps? Zack: I see. That’s right Executive manager. Lazard: Executive manager huh? Hey Zack, what is your dream? Zack: Huh? Ohh, that’s right, to become a hero Lazard: Quite a sad but a good dream none the less. Zack: What are you saying? Lend us your strength, along with Angeal of cource, If we all stick together we can become heros! At the very least I’ll reconise that we are. Lazard: Well Zack, do you know Genesis’ location? Zack looks at the White Banola Apple that Genesis left behind and realises the truth to where Genesis is hiding. Lazard: I see. Feathers fall from Lazard’s wing as the three make their way back to Banola…
